Call for Workshops & Tutorials

The Organizing Committee of Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference 2018 (ITSC2018) solicits proposals for full and half-day workshops and tutorials to be held on Sunday, 04th November 2018. This day of tutorials and workshops will precede the main conference days, which takes place from Monday, November 05 through Wednesday, November 07.

Important Dates

  • Proposals Submission Deadline: February 15, 2018
  • Workshops and Tutorials Date: November 04, 2018

Workshops

We solicit workshop proposals that address important and new topics related to the conference: basic research and applications of leading advances in communications, computer, control, and electronics technologies related to Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Workshops should focus on areas of active research, in order to provide an informal forum for participants to exchange developing research results and ideas.

The workshop format will be different to the rest of the conference technical program in the following lines. Each presentation will have more time for discussion, a primarily intention is to foster longer technical conversations during the sessions. There will be two kinds of presentations: reviewed papers, which will be submitted through the regular Papercept system, reviewed as any other paper in the conference and published afterwards at IEEE Xplore.

There will be a second kind of presentation: Invited talks. The workshop organizers are encouraged to invite prestigious speakers to be included in their program. These talks will be in the conference program, but in principle, excluded from IEEE Xplore proceedings.

Please be aware that the IEEE principle of no show no IEEE Xplore publication does strictly apply to the Workshops sessions too. It will not be allowed remote presentations (Skype, etc.).

Workshop organizers are supposed to organize the chairing to such sessions.

Workshop proposers are requested to submit a summarizing document, as PDF format, with the following information:
  • Title
  • Format (indicate full or half day, workshop or tutorial)
  • Organizers (complete address, phone, and email)
  • Abstract (up to 300 words)
  • List of topics
  • Tentative list of presenters together with a draft schedule

Upon approval, the organizers will be asked to produce dissemination materials to be posted at ITSC2018 website.

Tutorials

Tutorials should target established fields of research, in order to provide descriptions on its state of the art, by individuals who are recognized researchers of the field. We encourage state of the art programs with high level of interest, impact, creativity, and innovation that will attract a broad audience. The primary criteria for selection are anticipated level of interest, impact, novelty or creativity, and technical background of presenters.

Please, submit your proposal for a tutorial including the following information:
  • Title of tutorial
  • Aim and Scope (up to 300 words), describing goals and outcomes of the tutorial
  • Outline of topics and respective expected duration (in minutes)
  • Intended length (half- or full-day)
  • Intended audience and assumed background knowledge
  • If any, personal computer and software requirements for attendees
  • Contact details (institutional address, phone, e-mail) and a short bio of organizers

If the tutorial has been given previously, please indicate where and how it will be modified to meet topics of interest to ITSC2018.

Upon acceptance of your tutorial proposal, you will be requested to prepare a PDF file or a webpage containing the information regarding your tutorial. The file and link will be posted at the official ITSC2018 webpage.
